I asked my children if they wanted to go out to " Trick or treat " this year.
They said, "No." Perhaps, they think they are too old, so they don't want to go out on Halloween now.
Previously, when Halloween was coming, they were very excited. They insisted that I take out their costumes and Halloween buckets. They used to want me to prepare a costume for them, but this year my son didn't ask me for anything. He didn’t want to wear the costume to his school this year.
Last night, I asked my children again, "Don't you want to go out on Halloween?"
They said "No!"
So I feel free tonight!
A year ago, my family went to a flea market. We saw many kinds of pets there, but my oldest daughter picked two birds. She chose a blue bird and her sister chose a yellow bird, so I decided to buy a big bird cage and some bird food.
We got out of there and my husband drove us home. My kids were very happy to have pets.
Three months later, the yellow bird was sick. After a few days it died. My youngest daughter was very upset. She cried a little bit. The blue bird was very lonely and very quiet.
I told my oldest daughter, “Maybe we should let it free.”
She was sad but she agreed with me to let it go. We thought the blue bird should have friends, so we brought it to the front yard and we let it go free. It was very happy. As I was openning the cage, my daughters said bye - bye to the bird.
“We hope you find some friends, ”my daughter said, and then the bird flew away.
Today, after school I went to the Oakland Public Library to apply for a library card for myself.
I arrived at the library at 11: 55 a.m. The library had not opened yet. At noon the door opened. I presented an application form to the clerk who was working at the check out counter. He typed my information on the computer. Then he scanned a library card and gave it to me. I felt happy. I did not understand clearly his explanation about the effective date. I thanked the clerk and left the library with my new library card.
From presenting the application to getting the library card, I spent less than two minutes. How highly efficient the library is!
